While He was on the Cross

What a miracle true love is. Love is powerful and patient. I believe that love is one of the most powerful forces known to man.

You will do whatever it takes when love is your motivation. Prized possessions have a much lower price when money runs low. Why would you part with one of your favorite material possessions? Love. If you needed the money for a plane ticket, you’ll depart with it just for the opportunity to spend time with the ones you love.

You’ll put up with more when you love. Love covers sins. It is easy to forgive when you love someone.

There is no greater love than when you would lay down your life for a friend. The friend you love is more important than your own life. Hours of prayer are mere minutes when you love the one you are praying for.

Love driven prayers are unstoppable.

Our best example of love is Jesus.

While He was on The Cross, I was on His mind.. That’s LOVE!
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20 KJV

Pray Today and Everyday

In Psalms 5:3 we read, My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Two things in this verse stand out to me.

  1. He was clear. You will hear my voice today.
  2. His prayers were directed to the One who can answer.
  3. Okay one more, He said I will look up!

Psalm 121, gives clear indication on this whole looking up thing…

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

You will find your help from Jesus, look to Him in Faith.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Not many can say we have not missed a day praying. Certainly the intention here is not to condemn.
Our relationship with Jesus must be kept fresh by regularly talking to Him in prayer.  (Click to Tweet!)

Remember Hebrews states that if we go diligently to Him in faith, He will reward us!

Even in brokenness, Jesus wants to hear your voice… Psalm 34:18.  (Click to Tweet!)

I encourage you to revive your prayer life. It will be worth it.
If you need someone to partner with you in prayer, please let me know how I can pray for you.

You are Miraculous

I should be in bed.. Can’t make myself go inside… look at the sky! can you blame me?

Miracles and amazing beauty are a result of the Word spoken in creation.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are a miracle.
Jesus loves you.
His purpose for your life isn’t mundane or ordinary.

You are promised the ability to find Him IF you seek him.

Today is Your Day

Today is your day!

If yesterday was a rough one, maybe today you can not only have a best day, but you could make someone else’s day.

It starts with you.

Start by speaking the right words. Negative statements set the tone for your life. Find words that will uplift you. I’m not suggesting that you say crazy off the wall stuff. Simple things like saying, “This is going to be a great day!” can give you a needed boost.

Just ignore how you feel when you wake up.

How you feel when you wake up? I can hear you saying it. Yes I feel tired! We all need a great nights sleep to feel our very best. Instead of waking up and dragging around like you have concrete blocks attached to your feet, try putting a spring in your step. Get out of that bed, snap your fingers and start with a smile! Give a hearty good morning to your spouse. Yes it’s risky if they aren’t a morning person. You don’t have to be annoying by the way.

If what you have been doing isn’t working, maybe it is time to try something different.

You can make a difference everyday. Just make up your mind that you are going to walk in faith. Kick fear where it hurts.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Safely Under His Wing

Psalms 36:7

How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

You can trust Jesus, because of His never ending love for you.

If you are troubled by circumstances in your life you can find refuge in Him.

It is in the name of Jesus you will find safety!

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

(Proverbs 18:10 KJV)

Don’t put your trust in your employer, abilities or anything but The Lord. He will never fail you.

Humans can and will fail you.

My prayer for you is that you find peace and safety in Jesus.

If I can pray with you about anything please let me know.

Juicy Fruit

Juicy Fruit

I’ll always remember as a kid the smell of Juicy Fruit gum. My Grandfather would have either Juicy Fruit or Spearmint gum in his pocket. His generosity usually allowed me to get a stick from time to time. I have a pack of each sitting on my chest of drawers as we speak. I’m not sure what I’m waiting on to bust open a pack and get to chewing.Juicy Fruit

This post isn’t really about gum. What I do want to talk to you about is juicing fruits and vegetables. I have been observing the world of juicing for some time now. I started with a cheap ol blender to make smoothies. The blender is a great way to tasty smoothies. What a wonderful way to add fruit and veggies to your diet. Both methods are certainly better than candy bars!

The more I looked into juicing, the more I decided that I wanted to add juicing to my diet. juicing has been proven to have health benefits over and over.

Here are a couple or more things I hoped to achieve with the Omega VRT350.

1. Primary reason- juice fasting
2. Loose weight.
3. Reset for the mind, body and soul.

Why fast? There are many great reasons to fast that I will not get into very deeply in this article. Fasting is scriptural. That says it all. According to the Bible we must fast and pray to see some things come to pass. We must feed the spiritual part of us more than the flesh. Removing the hinderance of my flesh allows me to more easily allow God to work in and through me. This is primarily the reason for purchasing the Omega.

As a side benefit of the juice fasting I expect that it will be good for my health. That by the way is Biblical as well. Getting rid of a few extra pounds I don’t need is a good thing! I have actually lost about 10 pounds. I’ve been very casual about juicing so far. I expect that another 10 would be easily lost when I get down to business.

Benefits that I’ve found from juicing.

1. Clear mind
2. Better rest
3. Weight loss

So I am an advocate of juicing. I just wanted to give you a bit of insight to the first steps I have taken to draw closer to God and experience the health benefits of juicing.

I asked friends via Facebook and Twitter if I could juice homemade biscuits. Overwhelming the response was that gravy must be added. Carrots and other friendly fruits may not go well with a biscuit.

Here is the Omega Vert 350 HD that I purchased.
(If you buy via this link I may be paid a small commission. You won’t notice any price increase on your part, no worries!)

A Resource for Aurora, Colorado

Aurora, Colorado made the headlines recently for something few towns want to be remembered for. In 1997 the small town of Pearl, MS experienced a similar event.

When these things happen throughout our nation people blame the gun. The next thing out of their mouth might be, “It’s not my fault, the spoons made me fat!”. Makes no sense to me. I am on the side of many who know that if there were others in these situations who were armed, innocent lives might have been saved.

Many questions have been asked.

Where is God in the middle of this?

How do we deal with the loss?
Why do these kind of things happen?

No matter the age, no matter the background lives are forever changed in Aurora. Families have lost loved ones that will no longer bring joy and laughter into their homes. They will not have the opportunity to contribute their best to the rest of the world.

I want to let you know of a resource that has helped thousands dealing with the loss of a loved one. My friend JJ Jasper and his family lost their only son Cooper three years ago in an accident on their family farm. I have seen this man glorify God and minister to many hurting people through phone calls, visits, letters and social media.

A documentary called Flame On was made telling their story. [click to continue…]

Life’s Changes Bring Better Times

Recently Andy Griffith passed from this life on to another. He used his gifts and talents through the medium of television. As many as three generations have enjoyed The Andy Griffith Show. I personally have laughed and even learned from this great show. The values expressed in the series represented the ideas of many Americans. Honesty was one of the attributes. We certainly could use more honesty and integrity. Andy Griffith

We had our own Mayberry of sorts. I can remember a time when my family never locked their doors. There was an exception. When a prisoner escaped. Everybody was on high alert and called their neighbor. Town was several miles from our farm. The dirt was plentiful. Rivers crawled through the flat expanse known as the Mississippi Delta. The mosquitoes have the appetite of Otis. Of course they are bloodthirsty. I’m sure if they got the blood of some they got their share of alcohol. It seems the sound of normal night creatures were drowned out by the roar of the Blackhawk sized skeeters. Only a slight exaggeration is used here. Our Mayberry was settled deep in the country. We piped in the sunshine to our cotton fields. There is no better place to grow up than on the farm. It was rough at times, but the many memories and lessons learned will remain with me for the rest of my life. I learned to work chopping cotton on long, hot summer days. Later I moved up to a tractor. I felt like I had arrived. I really arrived after the my pay went from $0 to $2 per hour. You would think I earned a badge or got an award. My first purchase was a boom box and of course D cell batteries to power it. Keep Plowing

Wisdom is described as a hidden treasure that we should seek out. The fear of the Lord is the very beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is a healthy respect or reverence for God. When you have a respect for Him you are drawn in by the hidden treasure of wisdom. An interesting thing happens when you are seeking for something, you usually find other things along the way.

Have you ever been looking for something and couldn’t find it? While looking for the birth certificate you find other important paperwork. Maybe you are looking for that certain tool that you rarely use and while looking for it you finally find another item that you just went to buy because you couldn’t find the one you already own. The journey towards wisdom is much the same.

While you are seeking wisdom you can find other wonderful gifts. You will find the knowledge of God. Verse 6 says that the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

In verse 7 it describes how he lays up sound wisdom for the righteous and that he is a buckler to the the one who walks uprightly.

A Buckler is defined as : a small round shield held by a handle at arm’s length. b : a shield worn on the left arm 2: one that shields and protects

It sounds to me like wisdom could be used in spiritual warfare. It will shield you from from the attack of your enemy on your journey to every good path.

Discretion and understanding are two more weapons to preserve and keep you. Keep you from what? To deliver you from the evil men that are walk in disobedience. These men leave everything that is good and right in life and walk into darkness.

Another thing that you can be spared from is a strange woman. There are other names that come to my mind, but we will stick to strange woman here. It is what the Bible calls her. This “woman” is not a woman of virtue. In fact she, like the evil man leaves the things she was taught as a child and decides to drift ever farther into the darkness of death. Everyone that finds themselves under the spell of this woman do not come out alive. Spiritually they die. Often times their marriages die. She is out to recruit anybody she can to enter into the hell she calls her life.

The hope is found by walking in the paths of those that are good examples to us. Verse 21 states that the upright will dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. This land is talking about the presence and blessings of God. In the next verse the wicked are warned that they will be cut off and rooted out. The best life is living for The Living God.

Things will never be perfect in this world no matter how hard you try. Life is better without question when you strive to give yourself to God. By surrendering to Him and seeking after wisdom many other blessings will come your way.
